IELTS Mock Tests — Bharatpur, Chitwan
LIFE Academy runs full IELTS mock tests at our institute in Bharatpur 12, Chitwan, for students and professionals preparing for IELTS Academic and General Training. Every mock test follows the real exam format and timing, and every one comes back with feedback: Listening and Reading answers reviewed in real time, written feedback on both Writing tasks, and a live Speaking interview with a teacher.
Fees
| Option | Fee (NPR) | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Single mock test — at the institute | 1,000 each | One full mock test under exam conditions, with feedback on all four modules |
| Full mock test package — online | 4,000 | Hundreds of practice sets covering all four modules, with the same feedback: Listening and Reading review, written feedback on both Writing tasks, and a live Speaking session |
| Mock tests at the institute are paper-based. Call or message us for the current mock test schedule. |
We hold over 100 mock test sets, and new sets are added regularly. You can sit test after test without repeating a paper you have already seen — which matters, because a familiar paper measures your memory rather than your English.
What You Get Back
Listening and Reading — answers and review in real time
You get your answers and your raw score as soon as the test ends, and then go through them with a teacher. The useful part is not the number but the pattern: whether you are losing Reading marks to True / False / Not Given, whether you are running out of time on the third passage, whether Listening Part 4 is where it slips.
Writing — comprehensive feedback on both tasks
Task 1 and Task 2 are marked and returned with detailed feedback against the four official criteria: Task Achievement or Response, Coherence and Cohesion, Lexical Resource, and Grammatical Range and Accuracy. Since Task 2 carries twice the weight of Task 1, the feedback shows you where the band is actually being decided.
Speaking — a real-time interview
Speaking is done live with a teacher, in the full three-part structure: the introduction, the long turn with a task card and one minute of preparation, and the two-way discussion. Feedback follows straight after, against Fluency and Coherence, Lexical Resource, Grammatical Range and Accuracy, and Pronunciation.
Why Mock Tests Make the Difference
- IELTS Reading gives you 60 minutes for 40 questions with no transfer time. Candidates lose bands to the clock, not to vocabulary, and only timed practice fixes that.
- The Listening audio plays once. Practising with a pause button builds a habit the exam will punish.
- Writing is marked on four criteria, and most candidates cannot tell which one is holding their band down. Feedback tells you; writing more essays by yourself does not.
- Part 2 of Speaking asks you to talk alone for up to two minutes after one minute of preparation. That is an unnatural task and it needs rehearsing.
- A mock test gives you a realistic band before you pay the exam fee — useful when the real test costs many times the price of practice.
- A series of tests shows whether what you changed actually worked. One test gives you a number; several give you a direction.
The IELTS Format in Brief
Every mock test follows this structure, with the same timings as the real exam. The whole test takes about 2 hours and 45 minutes.
| Module | Time | Questions | What it involves |
|---|---|---|---|
| Listening | ~30 mins audio + 10 mins transfer | 40 | Four recorded parts of increasing difficulty, played once only |
| Reading | 60 minutes | 40 | Academic: three long passages, 700–900 words each, with no transfer time |
| Writing | 60 minutes | 2 tasks | Task 1: report of at least 150 words. Task 2: essay of at least 250 words, worth double |
| Speaking | 11–14 minutes | 3 parts | Interview, long turn with a task card, then two-way discussion |
Each module is scored from 0 to 9 in half bands, and your overall score is the average of the four. Around 30 out of 40 in Listening or Reading is typically about Band 7.
| General Training differs from Academic in the Reading and Writing modules only. Tell us which version you are preparing for when you book, and we will set the matching paper. |
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be enrolled in a course to take a mock test?
No. Mock tests can be booked on their own, whether you are preparing with us, at another institute, or by yourself. Many candidates come to us only for the mock tests, particularly for the Writing feedback and the live Speaking interview.
How many mock tests should I take?
One tells you where you stand today. Taking them at intervals through your preparation tells you whether you are improving, which is the more useful answer. With over 100 sets available you will not repeat a paper, so each test is a fresh measurement rather than a memory exercise.
Are the mock tests paper-based or computer-based?
Mock tests at our institute in Bharatpur are paper-based. If you plan to take the computer-based IELTS, practise in that mode too before test day — the content and scoring are identical, but entering answers on screen and reviewing them is a different experience from writing on paper.
How soon do I get my results and feedback?
Listening and Reading answers and scores come immediately after the test, and you review them with a teacher the same day. Writing feedback is returned with detailed comments on both tasks against all four criteria. Speaking feedback is given straight after the live interview.
Can I take mock tests from outside Chitwan?
Yes. The online mock test package costs NPR 4,000 and gives you hundreds of practice sets across all four modules, with the same feedback as at our institute: Listening and Reading review, written feedback on both Writing tasks, and a live Speaking session with a teacher.
Can I take mock tests for General Training as well as Academic?
Yes. Listening and Speaking are the same in both versions; Reading and Writing differ. Tell us which version you need when you book. If you are unsure which one your university, employer or regulator requires, check with them first — the two are not interchangeable.
Will my mock band match my real IELTS band?
A mock test is an indication, not a guarantee. It follows the same format, timing and marking criteria, so it is a fair signal of where you stand — but exam-day nerves and the particular paper both play a part. Use the mock band to decide what to work on next, not as a prediction of your certificate.
